"WORK for a living? Are you kidding? In this age of adventure, you want to become a respectable member of society? Well, that may be a bit too far of a stretch, isn't it? I can tell just by looking at you that you are driven by that which drives all great men: Greed. Still, you haven't really decided anything. We craftsmen have our fingers on the pulse of society. And if you decide to be a physician, that's not just a figure of speech. We are so immersed in the foundations of civilization that anything we might want to do outside of our lively-hood is practically at our fingertips.

But we again come back to what it is that you actually want to do? Sweating over a forge all day seems too much like slave labor to me. Shaping weapons and tools is certainly a worthwhile pursuit, but I've never been one for much physical labor. Now I'll take those same items and turn a profit that would make you head spin.

Getting away from the physical side of things, how about alchemy? Working with strange and mysterious compounds, brewing explosives, or saving lives with your healing poultices? Then again there's a whole lot of book knowledge there. Alchemists usually aren't that friendly. Probably because they spend so much time alone. No one wants to be around them in case something goes wrong. You seem like much more of a people person to me.

How do feel about being a physician? There's a lot of money in medicine these days, especially on the frontier. Always, elbows deep in some fool's guts, who doesn't know that you should just let them Thrulls alone. And every week I hear about some new plague or disease making people puke until they die. You could be right in the middle of all that. Come to think of it, that doesn't sound all that good either, does it?

Tell ya what, you stick with me, and I'll show you every thing that I know about business. Al you have to do is cut me in on 30 percent of any deal you make. How's that? A measly 33 percent to learn all I know is a great deal. Plus, I know a few things about the shadier side of society. Believe me when I tell you that 35 percent is an absolute steal. You can trust me..."
